Contribution to the Consultation on the Green Paper in Territorial Cohesion The Baltic Sea States Subregional Co-operation (BSSSC) welcomes the initiative taken by the European Commission to launch a debate on territorial cohesion with a view to deepening the understanding of this concept and of its implications for policy and cooperation in the European Union. Bringing together divers regions of the 10 Baltic Sea states BSSSC agrees with the European Commission that
territorial cohesion as expressed in the “Greenpaper on territorial cohesion.
Turning territorial diversity into strength” (COM 2008, 616) should promote a harmonious development of all regions within Europe in order to enable their citizens to make the most of the inherent features of their region.
Position Paper on the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region A Competitive Region in a Globalized World
This Joint Position Paper on the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region is presented by BSSSC, B7, Baltic Islands Network, Euroregion Baltic, Baltic Development Forum, CPMR - Baltic Sea Commission and UBC – Union of the Baltic Cities.
Content of the position paper:
• A position paper with concrete areas of actions for the Baltic Sea Strategy
• A Model of Governance*
• A summary of proposals for flagship projects supported by the six Baltic Sea organisations
The concrete flagship project proposals are attached as an appendix to this document
