| | Cooperation: One Region - One Voice
The BSSSC as a network organisation has a strategy to cooperate broadly. Networks, policy organisations and decision-making bodies are tied closer together. The aim is to strengthen common interests for the regions that surround the Baltic Sea.
In 2006 and 2007, many meetings have been initiated by the BSSSC in the Baltic Sea Region and Brussels to promote common visions and plans.
Many Baltic Sea Region organisations work on the same themes, although from different perspectives. In order to inform each other and find ways of coordination, the BSSSC invited Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions/Baltic Sea Commission, Union of the Baltic Cities, Baltic Islands Network, Baltic Development Forum and the Secretariat of the Council of Baltic Sea States to a meeting. The representatives discussed common future policy areas and how to coordinate common fields of interest. A decision about a common statement on Cohesion was taken and made (although CPMR was forced to withdraw from it) and on 31 May 2006¨. |
