BSSSC Youth Event 2019

Dear Youth!
The Agency for Youth Affairs of Kaliningrad Region invites you to take part in the International Youth Conference of the Baltic Sea countries from April 14th to 16th, 2019. The theme of the Youth Event is "Culture, industry of creativity and regional identity".
The Youth Event will address issues and misunderstandings that may arise when different cultures meet. Therefore, the participants will with the help of the Media Center from the Kaliningrad State Technical University, try to create a full-fledged media product about their vision of the common cultures of the Baltic Sea countries.
The youth event will also give the youths possibility to talk about cultural exchanges through regular film festivals in countries and regions of the Baltic Sea with the art director of the Zarya-cinema, Artem Ryzhkov. The youths will also get a sneak preview of the program of the Film Festival “Koroche”.
The youths will also be given the opportunity to personally communicate with the Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, Anton Alikhanov, in an informal setting.
The hosts will also show and tell the youth participants about Russian traditions and together visit the sights of the Kaliningrad region. For more details – see the programme below.

Questions and practical information
Requirements:
-
You must be a youth between 16-25.
-
You must be associated with a region or county within the Baltic Sea Region (the ten Baltic Sea Region States) - you must have a contact person working for the youth agency in your region to confirm your participation.

Your region must cover your travel expenses. The inviting region (Kaliningrad) covers food and accommodation during your stay in Kaliningrad.

If you are under 18 you must be accompanied by an adult.

The BSSSC Secretariat has ordered a bus from Kaliningrad to Gdansk on April 16 as the Gdansk airport has more departures. The bus leaves at 14:00 - the trip to Gdansk takes from 3-5 hours depending on border control - . Participants are therefore encouraged to check flights from Gdansk to their home regions on the evening of April 16 or the day of April 17 (accommodation from 16-17 is not covered by host region nor the BSSSC).

The Kaliningrad airport is located about 20-25 minutes by car or bus from the city center (hostel location).
The maximum number of participants outside the Kaliningrad region is 25 people. Accommodation and breakfast/lunch/dinner are organized by the Agency for Youth Affairs in Kaliningrad. Travel to and back from Kaliningrad must be covered by your own region.
To make sure the participants represent youth from all over the Baltic Sea Region, the host region will together with the BSSSC do a selection process. Therefore, await confirmation before booking your tickets.
